Hi community.
I want to create a flash effect with a switch trigered fixture.
I've a sequence of 8 steps, all of them with Fade 500 and Speed 100, step 1 is Lamp on, and the rest Lamp off.
When playing this sequence in the cue player without react to sound and react to tap, its plays a fast sequence that produces a short flash (desired effect).
My problem is that I want this flash to react each n beats.
When enabling react to sound, all 8 steps are correctly triggered by beat, but each step duration is the whole beat, and the first step of sequence (lamp on) becomes long, so the flash effect (short on time) is lost.
I want a very fast on/off effect between step 1 and step 2 to get de flash effect, but following the beat.
Any way to get short step duration but following external beat?
Thanks a lot

Re: Scenes time and react to sound question
Hey, I think everyone has had this problem once.
And I didn't find a way around this (using Freestyler for 8 Months now). If I'm working with strobes and synced sequences, I always try to use the fixture build in strobe effect. If your Fixture has a shutter/ strobe channel, try to put it in the right step and play around with the intensity to find the right tempo, so it looks good.
It won't be perfect, and unfortunately it won't work if the steps are played much too quick or slow (no strobe or even multiple strobes) try to stay in your average timing

Re: Scenes time and react to sound question (SOLVED)
This is the only workaround for the problem i've found.
- External bpm detection program that generates MIDI Clock Sync
- Self made program that reads MIDI Clock and doubles BPM rate and sends TCP IP Sendmessage Tapsync to Freestylrer
- Each secuence is step doubled to get 1 beat
By this way, I get much faster response from Freestyler to achieve 1 BPM flash effect always sync with music
If you will another BPM ratio (2,4,8) you must only multiply each scene steps.
The only drawback is that you increase scene steps.

That's why in freestyler sholuld be a bit multiplier implemented. There is only divider

If you look it can multiply OR Divide by touch of button
