Mapping different scanners on 6axis (PS3) controller

Post by gammagoblin »

Hy Forum
I managed to connect a PS3 gamepad to my Freestyler. It's a lot of fun, to control the scanners via the joystick. But it would be even more fun to be able to control both scanners separately by the two sticks.
Windows does recognise the movement of the second joystick, Freestyler sadly doesn't. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Is it even possible to control pan/tilt of two scanners separately at the same time?
It would be also cool if i could invert the x axis of one scanner so he does an opposite movement. Is this possible in realtime?

You can invert the pan or tilt by right clicking the fixture icon on the freestyler desktop or many fixtures it can be done on the fixture itself.
Why would you want the pan and tilt of two different fixtures at the same time? Unless you are trying to just run a light show on the fly without doing any programming I don't see the point.

Thanks Partyman
Yes it is on one hand to be able to do it on the fly and on the other hand to speed up the programmingprocess.
But a way to controll them separately is not known?

i also dont see the point.
but i could be possible if you can send the X and Y from the controller thru midi.
then use the midi to DMX function inside freestyler.

Ok i try to explain it:
The gamepad has two different joysticks. I have two scanners.
To speed up the programming process, make it more intuitive and be able to have a fast realtime-controll over pan/tilt, for the case i run out of preprogrammed or not matching shows or to be able to let someone else controll it without to have to explain the whole software.
And of course also just for fun, of stretching the possibilities.
I will try to convert the second joystick to midi.
Thanks
