Confused - is it me or FS

Hello all,

Sorry if this is a newbie question. I am using FS with an Afterglow Aurora-i interface. After browsing the forum I found a post that said to set FS to use the Enttec Open DMX setting as the Afterglow one throws an error. I have done this and it all appears to work fine.

I have added an iSolution IC4 fixture set to channel 1 and it works as expected. I then attempted to add an LEDJ LED RGB Par Can after creating the fixture file in the creator. It is a 4 channel DMX light with channel 1 being the intensity and then channels 2, 3 and 4 being the red, green and blue respectively. FS happily added this and set the start address to channel 5 as expected.

After adding the fixture and moving the sliders nothing happens (well sometimes I might get a brief flash of light) but nothing else. I have checked the fixture is working by plugging it into a manual desk and it seems fine. I also changed the address of the par can to that of the iSolution fixture hoping that the sliders would work but still nothing.

Does anyone know what is going wrong here? Could it be a side effect of using not using the proper Afterglow setting or is it a dodgy fixture file?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

it is probably a polarity problem where some lights need to have the dmx cable swapped over to work have a look in precvious post about strange light behavior
