Hi all
I'm pulling my hair out on this one. I've started using Freestyler to control 10 LED parcans and I've set up a few sequences which is working nicely. Now I have purchased a MIDI Moose MIDI pedal from Tech 21 and I can't get it to control anything in Freestyler.
I've been into the MIDI setup page and just to try and get it working, I'm trying to assign a pedal MIDI button to both Toggle blackout and Toggle freeze. When I click on Edit, I can click on the Function, press a button on my MIDI pedal and the correct Note appears in the 'Note' column, so I know Freestyler is getting the MIDI codes through. I then click on 'Edit' again to stop editing, on 'Start' and then 'Save' which closes the Setup window.
Shouldn't it then be a case of simply pressing the pedal button and Freestyler Freezing or Blacking out?
Really confused - can't find anything about this in the documentation.
Thanks in advance
Rob

Re: MIDI not working with Freestyler
Thanks for the post. Is 3.5.4 available for download? I had an even old version loaded prior to 3.5.5 but midi didn't work on that either which is why I upgraded.
Is there any other similar software that would work with a uDMX USB to DMX interface?
Thanks

Hi, I am not sure about other software you could use sorry. I have a separate thread running to find out where the FS dowloads can be obtained.

Re: MIDI not working with Freestyler ***FIXED***
Hi all
After a good few hours tinkering, I've finally got MIDI working properly with the latest version of Freestyler. The problem I had was that my MIDI controller (MIDI Moose - which is a fantastic quality product by the way) was sending 0 as the velocity. To fix this, I installed MIDI OX and then piped the output to MIDI Yoke setting up a Data mapper changing the Velocity value from 0 to 127. The trigger value in the Freestyler.ini file is 127 meaning that's why it wasn't working - those two values need to match. Getting the value from MIDI Moose and then changing the velocity to 127 makes it work perfectly!

Re: MIDI not working with Freestyler
Hi, Thanks very much for sharing and very clever. It is too complicated for me to do so I will stick with V3.5.4 until this is sorted.
