Got some 2 pr150 moving heads 8 channels. Please see the manual on this link.

I need a show not sure what type but for a small medium hall? Disco type? Heads will be placed mostly above head height? Not sure of that helps?

I take it you are after someone to build a show for you. A friendly point to note is that if you dont have the knowledge to build something simple using FS then fault finding, setting up and operating may be problematic.

Many people use different control aspects for different situations on FS and to guess the best for you would be difficult. So it is not just building the show it is gathering the requirements (to ensure that what you get is what you need), actually doing the programming and passing on the file and of course tutoring you as to how to set up FS in a live situation and controlling the lights.

I would give building your own show a little try first. If I can do something reasonably simple in a few weeks then i am sure most folks can.

Thanks, the problem im having is the actual scenes, when I try to make them my heads don't move around etc. im using an ebay dmx to usb interface, I can individually move the heads, do gobo pan tilt etc no problems, but when I try to goto the scene it doesn't show me what im trying to make.

also trying sound to light, but it doesn't work using my laptop.

thanks for your replies, I've finally managed to create a scene today, WOW, it took ages and was crap, just doing something where the lights move around slowly, that in itself took about an hour for such an easy scene, creating and adding scenes.

now after this I tried sound to light mode, and it finally worked, BUT

I restarted my laptop and for some reason it shows its offline, even though I could manualy move the heads? also sound to light stopped working what did I do wrong?

When it says OFFLINE it means that you have the cue window, or the submaster window open when programming so you will not see what your programming live or editing. It's useful for making small changes during live production and it means your audience won't see them, but you will if you use the 3D view and you have it setup on there exactly the same as the audience sees it.

Close the windows (cue or submasters) and then close create sequence window, open it up again and you should be good to go.

I have closed the windows as you mentioned but it still didn't work and shows offline. I can manualy move heads but shows offline lol.

I closed everything down then the programme and took out usb then restarted programme and it still didn't work

hi update,

it is the create sequence showing offline. tried to close all bars as advised. deffo something im doing wrong still.

I re added my fixtures, and I saw it said sound to light at the bottom, I ticked this and it started working.

ive also noticed with sound to light my heads are not at the dance floor often as they should be, is there a way I can change this?


im also trying to get my lights to do the shapes but still don't work.

OK, first things first.

When you use the Sequence Creator/Editor http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/c ... ce_creator it should not be reading OFFLINE as if it is the fixtures would not operate. So in the link have a look at 'OFFLINE' mode. When you say you have ''Closed all bars'' can you please confirm what you are closing. It should be closing the cue list and submaster windows that is required ....??

So please confirm that you can open FS, open the Sequence Creator (SC), select a fixture and on the sliders (Top Right) that you can control the fixture then we can get onto saving and editing.

plugged it in my laptop and it started working again, not sure whats going on, will messa round this week and report back. I was able to use shapes etc, how awesome they are hahaha, sound to light could be imporived maybe I should have used multiply? so far programmes good, haven't programmed my own scenes yet.

You're attempting to view your scene physically while in Cue programming mode. That won't work. You have to create the cue, exit the editor, and then play the cue to actually see the physical results. It's a little awkward, but you get used to it.

You can view what you've done through the sequence creator, if you're using 3D view.

I could potentially use VNC to remote-control your PC and do some programming if I had a webcam or something to see what the results were. Maybe even Skype?
