Want to flash RGB spots with override button

Post by Pj0tr »

Hej all!

I want to do two thing witg FS, but i can't get it worked...

i created a sequence of two scenes, the first says my LED spots turn all white and the second they will all turn off (flash sequence). It works well, but when i add that sequence to an override button it only plays the first scene, how can i get that worked???

Maybe my second problem is solved when the first is clear, but i also want to let my LED's flash a color i pick, so the first scene is all turn off and the second scene has to do nothing, just show the color it had before i played the sequence (nicer is that the sequence played before is still playing but that i overide that sequence with 1 scene of all white).

I hope my problem is clear, and I more hope you can help me!

Thanks!

The override buttons will only play single scenes (I think it defaults to the first scene in a multiscene sequence).

You will have to make 2 separate scenes and assign them to individual overrride buttons

make a sequence that just turns your RGB Spots on to white, then add it to a button (Make sure its a flash button by right clicking and selecting flash) then assign that to a keyboard shortcut, lets say its button 1 now if your lights are off pressing 1 will turn them white releasing the button they will go back to black thus repeateadly pressing 1 on your keyboard will create a strobe effect!...

Okay, I'll get it, but it will not create such a strobe effect when i make a 2 scenes, one white the other black, and then with speed both on '100'. I can't tap my keyboard at such a speed! :D

Is there an other way??

And what is the point of an override button if it only 'plays' one scene, what can you do with that?

Im not sure what lights you have but let me give an example of what i do with them; I have access to Clay Paky mini/goldenscans and generics. (mostly)

I like to be able to control each attibute fairly individually, so for each scan I built shapes and movements on to the submasters and then use the override buttons to act like palletes to choose gobos/colours/on/off/stobe/rainbow effect... all those attibutes I put on the override buttons,

also I built the shapes so that I can make locations as well (I havent tried this on freestyler but is my MO for other desks) becuase changing the point around which the shape moves makes a big difference to how it looks imo(audience, stage, center, spread, fanned out...).

In short my overrides usually look something like:
On/Off/Slow Strobe/Fast Strobe/Colours/Gobo+focus where approiate/Gobo rotate/Locations(?)/stuff I forgot/frost If i have space at the end

And what SilentShadow just said was exactly what there designed for... to Overide certain values I.e if you had a wall of Scans and you programed them with an Open Gobo so they move and dance around thats great but what if you wanted to temorarily change the open gobo to a star or something? then thats where overides come into play! I Use an overide button to activate my STROBE, you could use it to release a burst of fog/haze... I also use it to Brighten the bars LEDS so I can take photos in better light I just hold the button down (flash overide) and take the picture then release for it to carry on!

How complex are your LED pars? The ones that we have have 6 channels, RGB and then they have marco channels as well. In the macro channels is a stobe 'bit' a range of values that works like the dimmer channel on a miniscan.
