ACME Super Leo 250's - any good ?

Thought I'd tap in to the collective wisdom on here :D

I've been offered some ACME Super Leo scanners at a reasonable price by a friend.

Having had a disastrous experience with some Qtx Triton's (LED scanners) I thought I'd look for a better quality make. Are these any better, particularly the stepper motors, or would some ACME Dynamo 250's be a better bet ?
