Made a shape for my x-moves...I'm stuck

Post by kittmaster »

I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I want to use that shape in a cue sequence, it saves it as a .bez file, where and how do I apply that to a scene and where? I'm confused. What am I missing?

Thanks

Hi,

Here is where it all falls apart:

From the wiki >>> Collect this in a cue and import it in a Sub Master.

I open the cue, I select insert sequence, but the "name of the shape.bez" is NOT a selectable option, only .chb files.......so how does one collect in a cue the shape that was created????????

I also can't figure out how to make the mover change the colors, I can do it from the sequence builder, but then how do I apply that to the shape?

So I want a figure eight, and for every 1/8 of the 8 arc, I want to change the colors......those are the two things I'm having trouble with.

Can you please give me some further detail, I think I'm missing something subtle.....or just having one of those................weeks............LOL

Thanks

oke hi..

First the Shape and color change needs to be on 2 differnt Seq.

How to add a Shape to a SEQ.

1)Open pan/tilt window, Create seq Window
2)select Fixture and Shape
3)Press "ON" now the shape will run.
4)Save Seq.
5)Close everything
6)Add Seq to CUE and run it..

and for the colors Create a Seperate Seq add this to to Cue and Run it..
Now with the Scene time / Fade time or Speed slider you can let it run how you like to have it.

Ok I got the first part going and I understand it now, the second part I "get" it and I did a quick test using red and stars for the pattern and when I select the move pattern it started the figure 8 and I have the red and stars.....

So I went on and created a 3rd sequence of blue stars after the red star......I expected the head to continously move in the 8 pattern and swap between the red and blue stars.......but it didn't.....I guess you can see where I'm going, I want to cycle all the colors, gobos, and strobing effects of the moving head.

What is the next step to build a single cue list button to have it go through the prebuilt patterns and such i want to do as I mentioned???

If I can get that sorted I'll be in great shape!!

Thanks for the help....

OH, I think I had an idea, I guess I just need to expand the sequence in a 2nd step and fade.......let me try that

EDIT: I added a second step to the color sequence, and it just stays the red stars.......HMM...

IF i do the thing you like to do.

i make 3 diffiernt SEQ

one for SHAPES, One for Colors and a other for GOBOS.

the Shape Seq is only 1 STEP.
the color Seq Depant on the amount of Colors the color wheel have..
So this seq will have more STEPS, Each step a other color.
same counts for Gobos.

also be sure you have the "CUE multiselect always enabled" enabeld.
this way you can run multiple seq at the same time from the cue window.

Ok I'll give that a go, what if I want to combine shapes, do i treat each shape as one cue and step them in order or can they be cascaded? Like figure 8, up and down, left right ........etc.....does that makes sense?

I'm a one man DJ, so as you can see, I'm trying to fully automate my lights, in 3 basic area, movers on off with all the patterns, pars on off cycle through all created patterns, and direct control on each par and move with possible joystick control (eventually)

I don't have a light tech, so I need the cue buttons to do it all so when dance songs are running, I pump the high energy lights, when slow songs, all movers will dim and other lights not show will come up.....etc etc......
