Impressions on using Touchscreen
Hi All,
Having sort of got to grips setting up and playing FS via a PC screen/mouse interface I am looking at setting it up for easier use on a large touchscreen I have.
I have had a look at the UI2 and it looks pretty complicated to use.I also had a look at the Wiki for it which gives basic explanations but no real guidance on how to set it up.
I would very much appreciate anyones feedback on touchscreen.. The type of questions I have are -
Is it stable to use
Can you get all the functionality on it that you do with the PC/Mouse interface
General impressions i.e. is it worth learning it and setting it up
Thanks in advance as always. Rgds Mac

Re: Impressions on using Touchscreen
hi i allmost allways use TUI2
i use it on a small laptop and a External 22" touchscreen..
depant on how big the Gig is....
as i''m a Beta testen and test on the Extreme i can encouter some issue..
but in the mean while allot of the bugs are fixed.
on the FSwiki you can find a External controll list with all the Functions you can add to the TUI2..
there a Many Detail function you dont have on the TUI2 but it isnt realy neccery..
i use it more durring Live playback...
as you can add ALL 20 Submaster list on ONE screen ... instead of 5 on one tab..
and you can add ALL 180 Override buttons on one screen instead of 30 on 6 tabs..
because you can create your own interface with the buttons/slider you mostly use...
Here some TUI2 i made..
this is the one i use on my laptop
https://www.dropbox.com/s/351dybtbtabhu ... 0TUI.png?m
this is one i made for a good friend how owns a Paintball centrum..

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0p6vei95bx04x ... %201.png?m
and the one for my 22" touchscreen..
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7lt89pc8o42bbbn/Test1.png?m
and i use a BCF2000 because nothing can beat real sliders / buttons

Re: Impressions on using Touchscreen
Hi Spirit,
Thanks very much for the comprehensive reply.
I had a quick look at the screenshots of your setups........ just the type of thing I had in mind
I will have a look at the Wiki again and see how I go trying to set it up. The thought of a BCF 2000 is quite appealing ...... yes physical knobs and sliders is also my preference. I see there is a BCF 2000 forum page so I will have a look and see if I can find an overview of how to set up the laptop, touchscreen and BCF 2000. And there was me thinking I had got to grips to an extent on FS. So much to learn but having fun doing it.

Re: Impressions on using Touchscreen
Hi Spirit,
just a general question on your last post please.
As an overview of how you are setup do you -
Have your laptop set up to both your touchscreen and the BCF at the same time.
If necessary does that allow you to -
Split the functionality i.e. use the most used settings/functions set up on your BCF where sliders and knobs work better. And then via the touchscreen have say cue list buttons and overrides set up.
Seriously thinking on getting a BCF but trying to understand how exactly I could use it and also the complexity of setting it up.

i allways use freetyler with the Submasters because this give me allot og freedom while playback the seqeunces...
And i use the Touchscreen interface mostly to see which Sequence i selected on the submasters...
and have allot of buttons on it as the BCF doesnt have enough buttons..
on the BCF i have the tapsync button , manual tap, release, Submaster intenstie sliders, GO, BACK, Run, en Sequence speed.
to make it easy i allmost allways use this BCF setup

Re: Impressions on using Touchscreen
Thanks Spirit,
After much deliberation I will go for setting up a basic touchscreen setup. I already have a large Dell touchscreen which I am trying to set up. I operate FS via a laptop and would like to get at least the cue list buttons and some others from the program I have made onto the touchscreen. The questions I have are -
Should I be able to use the touchscreen as my second monitor with general buttons/controls on there and the laptop as primary. I would still like the FS functionality as full on the laptop also.
I looked at the buttons on touchscreen to import and could not see 'cue list button' is it called something else or can I not use 'cue list buttons' on a touchscreen
Basically I would like to set up a touchscreen with mainly cue list buttons and other most used controls but still have FS set up as original to use for the submasters etc...??
Thanks

Re: Impressions on using Touchscreen
hi it should be your Screen resolution -20 Pixels from the Height..
so 1280x720 = 1280x700
and 1440x900 = 1440x880
or 1920x1080 = 1920x1060
so 1280x720 = 1280x700
and 1440x900 = 1440x880
