Cuelists

Post by Nathanrs93 »

Hi,

I've been creating some cue's and putting them onto cuelists so I can just press one button. I was wondering if it was possible to have more than one cuelists running at once? For example, if I had some cues for moving heads and some for scanners, could I run them on cuelists at the same time with just press that one button for each one?

Hej Nathanrs93.

Are you using submasters?

I normally groupe my sequences like moving head movements and the uses submaster to shift them.

Hey Jan_K,

No, I'm not using submasters as I personally don't like them as I can't seem to get the hang of them. I've just set some simple cues for my moving heads and scanners (like random dancing scenes) and wanted to play them by a click of a button, but it seems I can't play more than one cuelist at once.

I honestly don't understand that what so ever :?

I've had a go with submasters before, but they never stopped when I told them to and it's just something I've never had the patience or time to do.

EDIT//
I've managed to get the hang of submasters and managed to program some things that I want, however I made the mistake of only selecting one moving head  so I've got to re-program it. But I'm happy now I've got an idea that I can hopefully make the show alot easier for myself and impress the boss ;)

Thanks for your help, Jan_K. Very grateful.

Can you please in short tell where you had difficulties understanding the sub masters.

Sure.

I believe with me hardly having any lighting knowledge as I've only just recently started doing it, it didn't help my understanding of things like DMX, software, cue's, macros, etc. I believe most of it was due to me not wanting to read what it actually said and wanted it to work straight away, because I'm not a person for reading instructions straight away when given to me.

I believe now though that with me taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture by asking questions and being honest by saying that I don't understand it, as made me understand it more. I'm looking forward to learning more as I go along and hopefully keep expanding my lighting knowledge.

Typical 19 year old teenager ;)

Yeah, I don't mind doing some video's when I get 5 minutes and you might be able to give me some tips as I'm programming for a real show, so I'll just use that for an example.

No problem at all. I'm always happy to help out anyway I can and provide as much feedback as possible.

My son is 19 in 1 a month. ;)

But all 4 of them are crying out for videos.
Unfortunately the ones I have tried to create have been to lousy after my opinion.
