Blackout issue...

Post by kjacobs »

I know I'll eventually get the kinks worked out on things, but until then bare with the questions.

I gave the manual a look over and decided to play with things a little more. I added 3 Chauvet Intimidators to my 4 - 4 bank Pars to experiment with the sequences some more. I set up a 2 step seq with the pars and 3 Intimidators, saved it and loaded it into the cue. Hit the button and its plays great. Open the output screen to see that everything was working good....so far, so good. Now I hit the Blackout Button and only the PARS go to zero. The Intimidators are still going strong chasing. Isn't the Blackout supposed to kill everything? If I hit the Favorites Button (which is set for a couple PARS only), it kills the Intimidators and only runs the programmed PARS. But, the Blackout allows the Intimidators to keep going.

Hopefully there is a simple answer to this one....

Ah ha! I knew there was a simple solution.

Problem found. I tried the same thing with the Intimadator 1.0 fixture instead of the Intimidator and the Blackout Button kills the shutter. The rest of the fixture runs, but the shutter closes. I see that the Fixture description file, and how the channels are assigned, totally determines how the fixture responds to a blackout.

I guess the more you play with FS, the more you learn.
