I Use FreeStyler for: DJ

Advanced beat Triggering

Post by aussiechris »

Hello all!

I currently have a number of scanners, LED washes and LED FX lights in a setup for DJ's/Bands. At the moment I am not really using the beat triggering (either manual or via audio triggering) and would like to start using it more. The problem is I would like different sequences to be stepped for a different number of beats.
For example:
LED Wash Intensity - Next step every 1/2 beat
Scanner Pan/Tilt - Next step every 4 beats
LED FX gobo/pattern - Next step every 16 beats
All fixtures - Next color every 32 beats

As far as I can tell I would probably have to tap the beat double time, create scanner sequences with 8 identical cues in a row, LED FX sequences with 32 identical cues in a rew and color sequences with 64 identical cues in a row. This would then step through all the identical cues every beat and only change after all of these identical cues have been played. This would only probably work for snaps not fades because as soon as the next beat came, the fade would have completed instead of completing over 16 beats or whatever...

Is there an easier way of doing this? Or any other way? Can I set certain cues in a sequence to only respond to every nth beat?

Thanks in advance

Chris
