Hello.
I have a question about the FX Engine. It is no problem to create a red sine wave over eight fixtures for example.
What I want to do:
Let's say I have a LED Bar with 12x3W Tri-Color LED (alls three Colors behind one lens). Each lens with its three colors has three DMX Channels. In total the fixture 36 channels. That means no dimmer channel. Not for the complete fixture nor for the lenses with its three colors. Because it is only one device in hardware I made it only one device/fixture in Freestyler.
Is it possible to make a red sine wave (or blue or green that doesn't matter) with these 12 red channels? That means the sine wave in just within the device.
Up to now I couldn't find a way to do that. I hope anyone of you can tell me how to do that.
Additional question: When I program a sine wave with the FX Engine it creates 12 scenes in the programmer window. Is it possible to add a circle movement to a moving head. I haven't tried it out but I think when I just add it to the first step it will stop in step two and start again when step one comes up the next time.
When I add it to each of the twelve steps I think that it will start the circle and when step two is up the Moving Heads jump back to its initial position and start the circle again. That will happen for each step.
As I said I haven't tried that but maybe somebody can help me with that.
I hope you know what I mean and can help me a little bit.
cheers
djmaq

Re: Use of FX Engine with multiple channels of one fixture
hi
the fx will only control the FIRST RGB channels or dimmer channel.
ONE fixture with multiple RGB or DImmer channels will not work correct with the FX.
there for a with a Sunstrip (10 Dimmer channels) i patch 10 separate Parcans so 1 Parcan has 1 Dimmer channel.
the same count for Multipale rgb fixtures to fix this you need to add Spearte RGB fixtures.
So Fixture 1 RGB channel 1, 2, 3 Fixture 2 channel 4, 5, 6 fixture 3 channel 7, 8, 9 and on..
there's also a Example on the freestyler wiki.
Now for the Circle the strange thing about the shapes is it only uses 1Step to create a Shape.
so if you add a FX with 12 step and you add the circle to it , it will only running on the step you added to cirlce.
so yo need to create two differnt Sequence one for the FX and one for the shape.

That was what I though.
Too bad.
I know tht workaround but that is not very comfortable.
Thanks for you answer.
