Showtec Sunstrip DMX Active - Seeking Help please !!

Hi All,

Still getting used to FS and trying to get my fixtures migrated over from Magic Q.

I have searched high and low on the site for a good working FF for the Showtec Sunstrip DMX Active. There was one thread that suggested the HQ Power sunstrip FF would do the job but I am afraid I still have a problem.

I have used all the available FS and EV fixture files and still cannot get EV to produce any beam(s). What is happening though is while adjusting the sliders on the right I am checking the output window on FS and also the DMX level on EV. Both are picking up the information correctly but no beam.

I have created a couple of fixture files and EV library files to date however I dont really have a clue where to start with this guy. The manual does not have the standard DMX protocol chart as you get in most other fixtures.

Grateful for any help please...??

oke first of all the FF from FS doesnt have anything to do with EV.
But i see your problem i also have the showtec Sunstrip.

i patch the Sunstrip for FS as 10 sperate Parcan (Yes a Screen Full)
but this way the FX generator will work Realy nice and you can create Sequences realy easy.

for EV i also havent found a nice working fixture there for again i just patch 10 Parcans or Round thingy.
look at Generic -> Single channel.

and RV does not work Good indeed but look at this page to solve the Beam problem

I have made a single channel on dimmer fixture file however cannot get it sorted as yet. Would you mind sending me the FF you use for the sunstrip please...??

OK, I have used the generic single channel to get a fixture file that works. So I have the 10 of them set up on FS. I am able to singley operate them and also by selecting all and using the Right Hand sliders adjust the intensity.

Is there any way I can do the following -

Set them all up as a group to be able to select them all at once with one click

Activate the lamp setting. Unfortunately this option is not available when I select the fixtures.

Hi Spirit,

Since upgrading to the new version of FS I cant seem to create FX on the sunstrip setup as I did. I am not sure if upgrading has caused the problem but it worked fine before.

What I am doing is as you advised. I have 10 single channel PARS set up in a group and I try FX on chase and have used both intensity and shutter on/off. What is happening now is the dimmer is setting at 0 for all 9 fixtures and then 255 for the 10th and last and then back to 0 through the 9 channels again.

I checked the FX with colour changing PARS and that is just fine and doing as it should.

Any idea where I am going wrong here please.
