Freestyler minimized keyboard control

Hello,

i am using Freestyler DMX in combination with my Entecc open dmx box to run several LED-Pars and a Strobe.
Is there any way to use the Keyboard Shortcuts when freestyler is minimized?!

My plan is to use an external Numpad/Keyboard to run the lights, while my DJ software is maximized.
Or is it only possible with an external midi control?

the keyboeard work on the latest window you pressed this is how windows work.
im not sure if you can Focus the keyboard on a specifc software.
and other wise the only way is a midi controller.

What DJ Software are you using?

There is a freestyler plugin for Virtual DJ that enables you to create Keyboard Shortcuts in Virtual DJ that can control Freestyler on the same PC or on another PC via a network. I use my numpad on my keyboard to control freestyler Cuelist buttons from within Virtual DJ.
