I have a question.
I'm using the Korg Nano Kontrol2 and I want to use 4 faders to change the first 4 DMX channel of each Fixture.
I try the Midi to DMX Option, but it is fixed only to the specified channel.
The background of my question is that the most of led pars using RGB for the first 3 channel. I have 2 effects and sometimes I want to have manual control over the led effects. If I assign RGB to the faders, it has of course no effect. Can I do something liek Midi to DMX channel relative to fixture?
I hope you can understand - sorry, my english is not the best
I´m not sure how you mean when you say that assigning RGB to the faders doesnt have any effect. Do you have fixtures for your lights, that have RGB channels defined?
If you have a fixture with RGB channels defined, and you select it, and assign the RGB channels to say the 3 first faders on your Nano, it will work fine. Then you select the fixture you want to control, and use the faders to control the RGB channels.
Some RGB lights needs to put in to DMX or RGB mode, usually on of its dmx channels does this at some value, see the dmx table for your lights. I usually use the macro function to make macros for each mode of the lights, say for example DMX mode (where the RGB and perhaps Strobe channels work) Music mode, and maybe some inbuilt programs, depending of course on the light. Since I use my lights in DMX mode for perhaps 99,9% of the time when controlling them with freestyler, I have specified a default value for the Mode channel, so that when freestyler starts my lights are put into DMX mode automaticaly.
You say that you want to control 2 different effect, do you mean 2 of the same kind of lights, say 2 LED par cans, or say 1 LED par can and one other light that doesnt have RGB controll, say a Scanner or a Laser?
If you want to control a couple of the same lights individually, you just select the light you wanna control, and use the RGB channels, select multiple lights to control them simultaneously.
You would then use the same 3 faders for all the lights RGB channels.
If you for some reason what to use those 3 faders for something else, you do thus with MIDI pages, or the page option you have on your Nano kontrol, just set it up so it sends CC on the same MIDI channel, but different Notes on the same fader, depening on which page you´ve selected.
