so i'm getting quite happy with freestyler, workig well with an enttec dmxusb pro.
but i'm having problems with dmx in, as in a complete failure to get it to work.
the enable box is greyed out, so i can't enable it from the gui,
this was the first clue that it wasn't going to go as planned. under what circumstanses is the box enabled?
i tried enabling it from the frestyler.ini file
changing the line;
[External control]
enabled=0
to
[External control]
enabled=1
no luck.
i also tried changing the interface type to virtual interface, knowing that "In" and "Out"don't work at the same time on the enttec pro.
but nothing changes.... any hints? is DMX Input even supported for the enttec pro?
if not what interfaces do support it?
btw does in via artnet work? i could try that too.
dmx in, how to configure?

Re: dmx in, how to configure?
yes dmx in works on pro but it is not designed to do anything in FS there are other programs that accept dmx in so you could use fs to control that software (PS dmx in only works on its own you cant have an in and out working at the same time)

Re: dmx in, how to configure?
rapheal tells me dmx in dosent work on the enttec pro.
which input devices can be used?
shame, i wanted to use the visualiser with my lighting desk. could have been sweet.
you dont know a program that converts the input from the dmx pro to midi do you or artnet to midi?
my programing skills are a bit rusty, but maybe i could try to write one. i've seen that hippy has written a library for freepascal.

Re: dmx in, how to configure?
DMX IN does work on the pro but not as the same time as out hence the TWO connector sockets! and you need alternative software to do anything with it as FS doesn't do anything with the dmx in,

Re: dmx in, how to configure?
i'm fully aware of the way the enttec usbb dmx pro works. i even read the developer documentation.
so what kind of dmx devices does the confiugration refer to? i mean, Freestyler setup:external control:dmx in.
if its working with artnet ,thats fine, i'll just setup artnet. if it works with some other interface maybe i'll build or buy one.
dmx in is kind of important for me. if i don't get it working then maybe i'll just have to spend a fortune on comercial software.
