Running Freestyler For Beginners

Post by tkodarkside321 »

Does anyone know the best way to set something up in freestyler so that anyone in our church with no knowledge of freestyler could walk in, boot up the computer, launch freestyler and turn on the stage lights?

I had previously tried just leaving the computer on (with freestyler on of course) and just fading everything out after service, then the next person that comes in can just press the "fade in 100%" button and turn everything on. However, the problem with this is that either the USB port on the computer times out, or the enttec dmx/USB converter times out if left idle for an extended period of time.

I have already shown a few people how to turn the lights on with all the procedures I use, but would like to find a way for it to be easier for everyone, avoiding having to manually turn on all the dimmers, launch submasters, etc....

I too set things up for a church. I chose to use AMDJ My DMX for the same reason that 95% of the people using it have no clue. However, if you have the ability t use the touchscreen interface either on the main or a second monitor: you can pre program over ride buttons as recorded scenes. Then, they boot up the computer, open Freestyler and the touch two interface is there, with your selected scenes with a push of a button.
