[RESOLVED] Submaster bug in 3.4.6

Hi everyone,

I think that I fins a bug in the latest freestyler release.

I'm at 1 hour of the show ans hope that maybe someone can help me.

I'm using submaster to control the front lighting.
But it's impossible to dim the submasters between 0 ans 127 (0-50%). If I look at the DMX output, the channels remains at 0 until I reach 50%. At this point, the DMX output jumps directly from 0 to 127

So, is this a bug or did I something wrong ?

i'm not sure because i use a newer beta version and there have been some issues with the playback system from freestyler.

but i know that the Submaster intensitie slider should work ok with 3.4.6
so i think you did something wrong. but i do not know what you did wrong.
if you upload a Backup i can take a look at it.

I ran my show without beeing able to fade between 0 and 50%. It was not so bad.

I'll try to re-install Freestyler and will try again.
And I'll try to post my backup here.

I think I figured it out.

After some test on a clean FS install, I tried to reproduce the bug. And didn't manage to.

But I "reproduce" it by clicking on "Set as lowest limit" on the DMX output window. It turns the channel red and for now, the channel never go lower than 127, except for 0, what is normal.


I remember that during my sho, in my DMX output windows, some of the channels were red, but I never set any limit (I have discovered this feature today). So I don't know how my channel ended with these limitation.

Is there any other way to set Lower or higher limit ?

yes if you press on the rightside Sliders with the Rightmouse button.

There is no indication direct on the fixture that something like limitation or inverse is set.

Is it an idea to request something like a red sqr. with a "!" so the user can see that the channel has been manipulated.

I could have spend a whole evening looking for something like this

Yes i agree that would be a great Feature.
it also took me a while before i noticed that the channel is Marked Red on the output window.
if its been manipulated.

There is always a beta.

The day after a release a new beta is started.

But when it will be released that is allways a god question but it has been a long time since the last release so I guess that it will not be long before Raph has something new for us.
