Sadly there is not a straight forward answer to the questions you have.
Its all about programming and how the lights you have respond to given commands.
I guess you are very new to all this so I have a few questions for you...
Are all of the lights you have DMX controllable ?
Do you have a manual for the lights you have ?
Do you have a usb/dmx device ?
Are you prepered to learn all about FS ?
If then ansewer to all the above is YES then we can help you.

Re: How do i setup light to sound to runs with laser?
Hi, Thanks for your reply.
I have answered yes to all the questions but been using the software for the past year or 2 but just upgraded my lights to all dmx as previously some was stand alone.
I have sequences all made for them all and also made buttons for them all too,
the 2 main things are i cant get light to sound led wash lights to work with a gobo light thats sequence auto at the same time as i can only get it to do light to sound on them both.
Also i had the strobe light setup on a button too with blank all aother lights but when you turn off the button no other lights are on so i end up with darkness while i turn on others again.
One more thing is the Smoke machine timed with the big laser.
Thanks again
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
OK I understand where you are with this now.
Firstly, When you say you have 'buttons' for them do you mean you have overide buttons set up for some control ?
Overide buttons are really good for strobe control and they are single action buttons, this means they will only run the first step of a sequence no matter how many steps the actually are in the sequence. Also fades will NOT work with these buttons. Buttons can be set to flash or latch (flash is better for strobing I think!)
I use the buttons for this sole purpose. I wrote one step which blacks out every thing and just sends a pulse to the stobe. Works really well when asigned to a button on a keyboard or midi device.
To control the fogger, just use the fog control from the FS tool bar. Then you can set the fog as you like - 3 secs's every 3 mins etc. It is a waste of time tring to time this in with the laser so I'd forget that idea as it will be nothing but a pain in the arse and never really gonna work properly.
Controlling lights using auto sound to light is somethimes the easiest way to operate . I have a few effects including 2 BIG 7 colour lasers. They are a real pain to program, as are most lasers, so I use DMX to trigger them in sound active mode, which works well for me. However I will point out that doing this DOES NOT mean that the lasers will be in sync with each other. The reality is that they both come on and do their own thing. This is typical of this type of operation mode. I have 2 Martin Wizards that work in the same way.
If you want to make a program / sequence that is sync'd then you must make it that way yourself and write the programs to do EXACTLY what you want.
Currently I suspect that you are not using submasters to control your show. I would recommend that you look at this as a better way to go as then you can easily create 'cuelistbuttons' to quickly change what the lights are doing. I have a tutorial somewhere on this forum which is a step by step guide to using this type of control.
Let me know how you get on.
