Fixture File Help for a Miroh LED Bar 2

Post by mcbda »

Ok so I was trying out the fixture creator and I have managed to get the bar working well except for 2 issues. The bar has 11 channels:
ch1 - Off, On Solid, Strobe, Fade, Auto Color Change, Chase, Sound Chase, and Sound Strobe;
ch2 - RGB Dimmer;
ch3,6,9 - Red;
ch4,7,10 - Green;
ch5,8,11 - Blue
I had to create 2 fixtures, 1 is the control fixture which only has 2 channels, 1 and 2. The 2nd fixture has 3 channels which represent the RGB channels. I made it similarly to the ADJ Light Bar tutorial. Now the issues that I am having is that I cannot get the Sound Chase or the Sound strobe to work. Is this possible? Any help/info will be great!

Thanks!

PS The manual is here if you need it: http://www.microhpro.com/products/ledbar2/manual.pdf

Hej mcbda

I don't know if there is a speed control in the fade and color paremeter but I have made it just to show you.

The problem with sound control can be the resolution on the faders. It can be difficult to set the exact value for this small range.
I have adde two node for this.

Don't know if this fixture works.

All the Icons could. have been placed in the macro but I place them in the gobo conrtol so there is a fade in the same panel.

Have a look.

There is a bit about fixture names on the wiki.

For some reason whenever I try to import the file into fixture creator I get an error "Input past end of file." Any reason why this is happening. I reinstalled the programs and still saying the same error.

Hej mcbda

The same here.

I tried to export it again and this one seems to work.

Ok so I just tried it however the light is still not working properly. The light still isn't sound chasing or strobing. It just remains chasing even though it should be strobing. I'm not sure about this, but the light should be using the internal microphone inside of the light correct?

Regardless I am really grateful for all of the help!

Hej again.

It should be using the internal mic.

Don't know if you have tried this but the led bar can be used as standalone.

If you use the menu on the led bar, then you should come to a point "SOUA" or "SOUF".
Set this and it should be sound controlled. You may need to remove the DMX cable.

Is there something you can adjust on to set the sensitivity of the mic.?

I have used the bar by it self with the sound active options and it works fine (and yes it does have a intensity wheel. I was hoping I could use the modes by controlling the Light with the Freestyler.

Ok.

Now we know that the sound option works!

In Freestyler set the fixture so it is sound controlled and make a screen dump of DMX output.
"Output" -> "Show Output"

Screenduump is "Alt + Print Screen" and then paste it to a program like "Paint"
Upload the the screendump here.

And please mark / tell what channels are used to control the fixture.

Ok I've attached the screen dump. Channels 1 (effect/gobo) and 2 (dimmer) are the controls and channels 3 through 11 are the RGB sliders. The RGB sliders work perfectly however with the current values that are being displayed (255), the lights should be sound strobing and instead they are just doing a fast chase.

Could freestyler be passing the wrong values to the light?

Thanks,

Matt

To me you have the correct setting for sound controlled strobing.
The value you see in this output window is the actual DMX values at the channel.

If you know anyone with a hw controler then you can try connecting it to that one and see if it works there.
Then you have tried all possibilities.

I think you should contact "microhpro" and and ask them what is wrong.

Send them the screen dump so they can see that the setting is correct.

Ok I will contact them and see what they have to say. I don't know if anyone I know has a physical controller I will have to ask around. Thanks for all the help and I will let you know of the outcome.

Thanks,

Matt
