Hey guys I've been looking thru past posts and was wondering what op system I should go with when I finally get a devoted "light" laptop.
Honestly I've kept XP for all my recording computers and whenever possible but since I have the luxury of telling the guy what to put on it should I just go with Windows 7 or stick with Vista since the bugs have been worked out?

I'd multi-boot Window 7 and Ubuntu Studio. Too bad Freestyler will only run on the Windows side. I've had it running in Oracle Virtual Box without the interface hooked up. The DMX output window shows that it's working. Magic 3D won't run for me. Not surprising due to my circa 2005 single core AMD Athlon 64 3200+.

I run Freestyler on both WinXP(x32) and Win7(x64). Perfectly working, except for problems with SunTrix/LedTrix (I wrote about a problem in certain thread). So it's ot operating system problem:)
