MIDI Input List

Post by n.webber »

Hi,

I want to update the MIDI input list but I can not change any of the present values or enter new ones (in empty places).
Also, I assume the pages numbers refer to the preset pages on the controller (BCF2000).
What is then page 0 (zero) referring to?

Is there somewhere a basic explanation of the editing routine and the different options?

P.S I am now using version 2.96i

Thank you.

N. Webber :)

ok heres how it does it with the BCF.
Connect the BCF up to your pc and wait for it to be recognized by windows.
Open u freestyler and goto the midi page, set the bcf as the input/output device, the click start.
If no problems have appeared so far you should be good to go.

select a page (il explain later)
then select assign notes, this allows you to edit the the midi data freetsyler looks for.
select an attribute I.E Blackout Fixtures.
Goto your BCF and press the button you will use to blackout freestyler.
freestyler will do the rest.

Then continue till you have configured all the settings you want.
Remeber the bcf sends out different midi notes for each control on each preset to enable you to have more then the 8 faders and works well with freestyler.

FreestylerPages:
This has been created for midi devices which have a fixed number of channels (unlike the bcf).
if you had a device with only 8 channels and you assign channel 1-8 to control submasters you have no more channels to play with.

In freestyler you can change presets in the software allowing you to have the same note assigned to different atributes.
so channel 1 on page one could be blackout, but channel 1 on page two could be Pan.
Page independent allows one note to be assigned to one attribute on all pages, so will work what ever page you are on.
(good for blackout and Page changes)
