.bmp or .jpg image for fixtures

Post by gonridnu »

Hello... I am abviously brand new to freestyler. After purchasing Virtual DJ I saw they had a plug in for Freestylers and am giving it a try. In order to convert from traditional lights, I bought an Enttec Pro and all new DMX LED lights as well as a DMX fog machine. some of the lights were not in the database so I followed your procedure for adding them and will work on macros at a later date.

My main quesiton (the first of many I'm sure) is that the thread I was reading said to add pics as a 75 x 75 .bmp image with a transparent background, which I did. I then successfully found the pic in the refreshed pic pulldown on creato and both saved and exported the fixtures. While everything appears to be just fine, when I look for the images I added the only option is to look for .jpeg as there is no .bmp optin offered so I can't actually see the pics I added.

Is this by design? Did I read old info and should have added jpegs? Do I need to correct this?

And finally do you guys see the results when someone builds a fixture? I'm wondering because I built a fixture for ADJ P36's and used a photo of a different par can. At first the pic was there and then it disappeared. I have since corrected it with the proper picture but was just wondering what happened?

Although I have a steep learning curve ahead of me I'm hopeful and will donate for the program when I'm sure I can use it properly

Gon

I used a Gif that works, but the background isn't transparent. I didn't read the instructions though.
