Freestyler Midi Out For Arkaos GrandVJ

Hi ! It's my turn to ask a question.
I use freestyler for 3 years now.
I want to configure Overridde buttons to send a midi signal to Arkaos GrandVJ.

I installed MidiYoke in order to have several midi tracks.
I installed a virtual keyboard (Borme's mouse keyboard) to play the notes.

I configure the virtual keyboard to send midi signal to Yoke 1

I launch FS and go to midi setup. I configure midi setup In with Yoke 1 and send signal out to Yoke 2.
GrandJV is configured to accept midi signal from Yoke 2.

Okay i programm my first override buton like this :
- start
- edit / page independant
- i play the note with the virtual keyboard
- The value is accepted by FS (note 60 / page 0 / channel n/a)

And i save my settings.
I have a double screen so i ca se what's happening in Arkaos.
I press the Fs button, and arkaos does not play the "Knob" but i can see that it receives a midi signal : there is a signal button that turns on.

I tryied to configure the keyboard, fs (you know with the value 127, etc. etc., With and without the option "note on -note off, and also with the bet version "Convert flash to toggle buttons". Se signal is not interpreted by ARkaos.

And if i confugure the virtual keyboard in order to send the note to midi Yoke 2 (so without using FS) : it works well....

I'm in for 2 days and that's too much (my boss will soon see that i didn't worked ! )

Does FS support virtual midi out ??? Seems yes (the arkaos button react) but i think that the value is not good.

I'm not a midi specialist and i'm french.... sorry Please help me.

i do not think Fs can Send out Midi signal it can only give midi out to Update stuff like lights/faders on the Midi controler, think about the Bcf2000.
i use Bome's Midi translator(and i took a look at the virtual keyboard), but isn't it a better to Have FS midi in =Midiyoke 1 and Arkaos Midi in = Midiyoke 1.
so if you Press a button/Key on the virtual keyboard it will send a message to Fs and Arkaos?
Note60 = a Override button and a Play/pic/effect button for arkaos.

I understand your point of view.
But I only want to work with FS.
I want that my actions in freestyler (override, gobo selection etc) were synchronized with ARKAOS with my PC Keyboard.

Does a plugin exists in FS to send a signal (Midi, OSC, or other non-dmx) that would be received by Arkaos ?
Maybe a virtual signal translator... Does anyone has used simulteanously FS and Arkaos ?

(Sorry for my english but ya know in the french forums there's only questions about "how do i get my fixture for..." )

i didn't understood what was the "feedback". I read this wiki but didn't understand.

Baybe someone have a solution for me... maybe an OSC plugin for FS. That was asked a few years ago on the FS forum.

Every idea is welcome... i only want to duplicate my actions from FS throught GrandVJ.

Yes but how do you trigger your override buttons with a mouse or keyboard

I tryed the two ways.
I also tried to enable or disable The option on/off, but that wasn't better.

and if this doesn't work or you dont like it, the only way to do it.
if i'm correct this works with older version of arkaos you can also control arkaos with DMX, only you need a DMX device with a Dmx In

yes i tried and it works.
But unfortunately, that's not the way i want tu use it. But i think i have found the answer :

It lisens to pc keyboard in background an produce the note on "midi out".

I press the keyy on FS, chirp listens and get the letter of the keyboard, and product the midi note of my choice.

Grandvj listens to midi note in background too : it ears the note and product the video i want !

The only problem is that i only have a demo version of CHIRP (7 days left) ...

I dont have the time for the 2 next days to work on this. Maybe i'll post a video demo. It may serve to someone else.

I think you can use MIDIOX to translate the output from FS into what you want to send to Arkaos.

I tried midiox, but that didnt' work.... maybe i didn't used it as i should... can u explain how i should have configured FS and MIDIOX ?

in the mean time,, what do Arkaos need on MIDI data to work as you want? and what exactly do you want to do from FS

ok,, i had some spare time so looked into it..
With MIDIOX i analysed what FS sends out which is control change events (same type/event that FS only could receive in the first versions). so yes, FS does actually send out real midi messages which could be used by other programs, like the Arkaos. However If Arkaos can not use /interpret MIDI control change messages/events, you have to translate them into something it does understand.

I think MidiOX can do the trick for you but i need to know which type of MIDI data Arkaos want, then i can make a small guide how to do it (quite easy actually, but I'm in a good mood today, so i help you )

Thanks for all my Danish friend ! I didn't knew how to configure the translation map, but you helped me !

You knwos, it's difficult to use FS in live while you're mixing ! So my wife come with me.
If i had to tell her "Sugar you also have to select video mixes while you're using FS...." I'm not sure that she would be enchanted !

So every Action or Override Select (i didn't choose yet) whould apply a video filter (clic blue in FS, Blue filter on Video, etc. etc.
