Midi Interface - Roland Octopad

Hello:

I am tring to get the Freestyler software to recognize a Roland SPD-30 Octopad so I can send MIDI notes from the Octopad to Freestyler. Question, under setup, external control, midi, how do I get Freestyler to recognize the Octopad? Right now my only option is "no input". Thanks for your help.
