Buttons with single colors?

Post by plan_G »

I have only LED pars right now. I'm starting simple, which is definitely helping me learn the software :)

So far my cue list contains simple fades and some strobing. I have nothing showing up in any of the "buttons". I don't know how to set them up... but is there a way to set up a specific color per button? Or is that just repetitive to selecting a color from the color wheel/box on the fly? Or would it be best to simply make a cue entry for each color I may want to blast at any given time?

Overrides would be the way I'd do it.

Looks like there isn't a Wiki entry on Overrides, though.... Bummer, because a) It's a little complex and can't really be easily explained in a forum reply, and b) Looks like someone needs to write up the Wiki entry.... :?

Usually there is no "right" way to do something... You have to find out which way works best for you!
I have some override buttons to change all colors of all fixtures. But normaly I use the submaster to select predefined sets of colors or use the color wheel/box on the fly (for LED fixtures mostly).
Play around and find which way you like
I know, my english is not the best. If you have any problem to understand you are welcome to give me englisch lessons

I would, Gary, but I'm not quite in that position!! LOL. I just found out I'm on for lights in one week. After I regained consciousness I remembered that this particular venue has lights already, and it is a small birthday show, so if I screw up it won't be the end of the world. However... rubber has to hit the road.

I'll read on Override buttons. I've seen the blue triangles with ! in them, but I didn't know how I got them.
