override buttons & speed

Post by MichaelVH »

Hi all,

it's me (again) :p

Let me first start saying that all your replies I've had in the past few days were extremely helpful and useful!!!

I've managed to get everything to work (also the touchscreen interface) except for one small thing:

I'm using the 'special' touchscreen' interface where I've added all 30 override buttons for
movements/colors/gobo& - shutter control. I'm also using the BCF2000 as external hardware.

Wen using submasters, I can easily use the "masterspeed" or even the "sequence speed" to bind to a fader on the BCF2K and change the speed it runs like that. Unfortunately the "submasters"-screen isn't really "touchscreen"-friend (I've got rather thick fingers :p).
I would like to use the override buttons AND be able to change the speed of e.g. movements using a fader on my BCF2K.

Has anyone got an idea?

Secondly, I just wondering if it would be possible to add more override buttons? I'm actually limited to 30 and I've got a lot more combinations than that! (gobo's, colors, movements) etc.

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Michael

Spirit,

thank you for your prompt reply!
It's a pity that controlling the speed from an override button isn't possible. Using submasters with only a touch-screen isn't all that easy!

Is there maybe a way to (easily) visualize the submasters onto the 2nd touchscreen-window?

Thanks!

I also use 2 screens 1 for freestyler and 1 for Touchscreen UI
Is there maybe a way to (easily) visualize the submasters onto the 2nd touchscreen-window?

That's probably where the differnce is. I only have one monitor (touchscreen) so if I need to use both, I continiously have to switch between both interfaces which isn't do-able...

Thanks anyhow for your time! :)

You can not select speed for override buttons because override buttons are supposed to use only one step. For example to override the acutal fixture color with an different one. Changing speed for only one step seams not to be very usefull.

If you use override buttons controlling the movement you of course would like to controll the speed. But there are other ways to do so. For example use the cue window or the submaster where you can change the speed.

At this point you come accros the problem you just discribed: there is no way to visualize the submaster onto 2nd touchscreen window. I agree with you this could be very helpful. So why don't you send a feature request using the bug tracker: http://www.freestylersupport.com/bugs/main_page.php ?

Mavi,

thank you for your input.

As you said, I'm currently working with the submasters & cue-list to control the speed of seperatue 'functions'. I have to admit that it works fine, but unfortunately (as I said before) it's rather "small" for my thick fingers when only having a touch-screen available.

I was indeed planning on sending a feature request for that matter :-)

Many thanks!

Michael
