Do not exactly know if this is the right forum, but since my problem is about a config file I will post here:
I use a backup software to synchronize FS on my laptop and my pc (and an FTP server to always have a working backup). The problem is I have different screen sizes and resolution on laptop and pc. Always when I backup/restore the window positions for cue, override, gobo, color, ... are wrong. In my backup software there is the possibility to exclude files from commit. I would like to do that with the file where the window position are saved in.
Here are my two questions:
- Which file do I have to exclude?
- Is there anything wich should NOT let me exclude that file? For example are there other important information saved in the file wich need to be excluded?

Re: Cue/Override/Gobo/... window positions config
here is a workaround (i think).
if you change the resolution on your computer/laptop/etc, ..and then change it back, ...i believe windows will adjust all windows (and child windows in an MDI) to insure they are all visible.
i don't have a handy way to test this, ..but i believe i've ran into this before, and this was a solution.
hope it helps.

In freestyler you can Reset the windows positon by clicking Window --> Reset Windows potions.blackeyed28 wrote:here is a workaround (i think).

But I dont think that is what Mavi is looking for. Mavi don't want to change windows potions each time he has synced between his computers
@ mavi.. have you tried the backup feature in FS. I dont know if that save the windows positions

Re: Cue/Override/Gobo/... window positions config
As far as I can see the window positions are saved in the file data.fsd.
Other contents of that file seems few numbers. Might be all window positions, might not. Wich could cause unpredictable problems.
Try not to restore that file and see if something is missing or goes wrong.
You might want to try that with a new FreeStyler installation as some problems might show themselves more quickly then.

Sorry for answering late, but I was some days off, visiting my hometown.remco_k wrote:As far as I can see the window positions are saved in the file data.fsd.

I got an answere from Raph. There are not only window positions saved in the data.fsd file.
I will try to use the backup/restore function as soon as I am at home and have the other PC at my side.
