Freesyler in combination of enttec open dmx usb

Hello,

I'm a newbie on this forum and also in DMX world.

I've found some helps on You Tube how to programme the software and its seems not so difficult.

But now i've got a simple question: How do I connect Freestyler in combination with the Enttec controller.

Example: Software from laptop usb to the Enttec and DMX out from Enttec to the first DMX device / laser / scan or par.

Please help me with this

I do not get your question. Everything you said ist right:

Connect your Laptop to the Enttex interface. Connect the interface to the first device in your DMX-Line.
You also have to select the right interface in Freestyler Setup.

[EDIT] Forgot to write that there is no tutorial for lases but the other ones is good reading anyways.
laser are a bit more complex to do but not that hard.. you just have to found out which predefined attributes in fixture creator you want to use for your laser

Search for another laser fixture in freestyler, open it in the Fixture creator and have a look how someone else made that fixture file for that other laser.
Maybe even get the manual for that laser so you'll have the DMX channel description.
That way you' might get the idea on how to start.

it is easier to choose a laser and then search the fixture library in the Freestyler software and on this forum, than list all the lasers FS already supports at this time. there is a lot of lassers which is supported and new are added all the time

Sorry you are moderator and works everyday with Freestyler, for me is it really the first time.

So please help me a step further.

Fixtures in the list are sorted by manufactures. So find the manufacute of your laser, then select the one you have from the list. some times for double laser (or in general double-"fixtures") there are two profieles to add. One for the right side and one for the left. This is since FS can only controll one lamp channel per fixture for example.

If your laser is not in the list, you have to create the fixture file yourselve.

You can use the fixture creator to open and edit (or in your case just take a look how thinks work) any fixture file included in freestyler. After running the Creator there is a button to "open existing profiels" in the bottom line. I would suggest you to open an existing laster profile and take a look.

I never created a fixture file for a laser but I know there are some issues to solfe. Since most laser do not use simple "gobos" or "pan/tilt-movements" like scanners or moving heads do you will need to use a lot of macros. Find out wich values on wich channels are used for the patterns you want to use. Then create the macros. You then will have the ability to hit only one button to send all values to all the channels. I think what I mean with this will get clearly to you, if you take a look at the macro tab of an existing laser profile in the Fixture Creator.
