Hello everyone, I am enjoying using Freestyler and learning as I go. I have a question regarding the use of independent light control. So I set up 3 lights this weekend using Freestyler and an Entec Open DMX interface. I set up a Chauvet Double Derby X LED on DMX address 1 and it only uses two channels of DMX. I set up a Chauvet Vue 6 at DMX address 3 since it uses 6 channels of DMX. I set a ADJ Starball DMX at DMX address 9 and it uses 2 DMX channels. My problem was this. If I would select the VUE and ensure no other lights were highlighted either light blue or red, Anytime I would turn on the VUE the Double Derby was also reacting to this action. If I turned off the VUE and selected only the Double Derby and made sure neither of the other two lights were light blue or red, actions I was doing on the Double Derby controls were also controlling the VUE. I triple checked my DMX addresses and they are right, but I didn't know if I was doing something wrong. Thanks
Jay

Re: Problem with light control
Hi Jay
First off it would look like you have each fixture setup properly and addressed correctly in FS.
Im not familiar with the fixtures you are using. Can you tell me if they have a digital display or dip switches to change the dmx address ?
If they have a digital display then you can be pretty sure that the fixture address is correct. If they have dipswitches then its really easy to make an error.
Luckily FS will show you how to set the swiches in the add / remove fixture page.
Another thing to check is on your fixtures. A lot of chauvet fixtures have 2 or more dmx modes and each mode could have a different number of channels.
You will need to check the manual for each fixture to be sure.
Lastly, it could be that the fixture profile in FS is wrong. Use the fixture manual and the fs fixture creator program to check that it is correct.
Please report back and let us know how you get on. Good Luck!
