Light files

Post by Disco jay »

Hi Everyone,

I am new to using freestyler and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a could of questions please.

1. When I run the 3d program and find my lights, I have found that the 3d program has lights that freestyler does not. Can I transer the file over to use in freestyler? The light I am talking about is the kam 3d laser. Its on the 3d program but not in freestyler. Do not know what to do next?

2. How can I update light fixture's in the the program?

many thanks

Justin

Sorry you cannot do that. FreeStyler fixtures are not compatible with the visualiser and vice-versa. Same would apply if you was using Capture or WYSIWYG visualisers, so you need two types of fixture file to be created, one for the control program and one for the visualiser.
Only certain programs like Daslight DVC2 and teh Sunlite Suite (there are others) that use both the same "fixture" file in control program and the visualiser.
Some visualisers send the patch information to the control program and then that knows what to patch but they still use different fixture files so would need to be defined twice as well.

So you need to use the Fixture Creator to create you fixture file for FreeStyler.

Just because there is a fixture in Magic 3D Easy View does not mean it will display correct or display at all in the visualiser as I said above Sunlite Suite uses the same fixture file for patching into the control program and if possible for display in the visualiser.
