Working with shapes and I've hit a wall...

Post by sundog_rocks »

Hello All-

Here's what I'm trying to do (and I hope I word it clearly enough to follow):

I'm trying to create a scene in which 4 my moving heads (Chauvet 425 Mini Legends) appear to scan independently of one another all over the stage area.

First, I set up a scene by choosing fixture #1 and assign it a color, gobo and shape (in this case a circle) and then click ON. I can see the fixture moving in the 3D visualizer and have confirmed that everything is working OK using 'Edit -> Show Output'.

Next, I set up fixtures #2, #3 and #4 in the same manner.

From the 3D visualizer, I can see each fixture projecting in happy sweeping circle motions around the stage somewhat randomly (i.e, they are NOT synced up - one might be pointed up, while one to the left or right, etc.)

I then saved my cue and add it to the cue list.

However, once I start playing back the scene in the cue list, the fixtures sync up and move in the exact same manner (like I programmed all 4 fixtures at once).

I tried a few different things:

- different starting points for each fixture
- different size circles for each each fixture
- different shapes

So, it it possible to assign four different starting points (using the same shape) to four different fixtures?

Maybe someone else here has come up against this and found a solution, I wasn't able to find a thread that specifically discussed this...

Thanks so much!

Kevin

I keep meaning to ask Raph to look at a way to make this easier but for now the methods laid out in the post Onge has mentioned will do what u want it's just a little long winded.
