Create Sequence by typing in channel values

Post by Mavi »

Hi forum ;)

I created some sequences and used them. Now I have to change the DMX-Patch, and want to reuse these sequences. Therefore I thought of editing sequences by typing the channel values to other channels. For example, if a sequence uses channels 5-8 before, now it has to use channels 1-4. So I edit every step: look wich value is at the "old" channels and type them into the new ones. Then set the old channels to 0.

I remember I saw this posibility bevore. There once was a window with a table under the "create sequence" window where you could set channel values by typing them in and change off/fade/snap behavior by klicking the table cell coresponding to the DMX-Channel. A color (red/green/yellow) indicates wich behavior has been selected.

My problem is, I still can not find this window (with the table). I think it would help a lot, becouse it is much faster then selecting each fixture and change its channel values by using the sliders. So can anyone tell me how to get this table? My create sequence window allways is in "offline mode" (do not remember what that means and how to get it back to "online mode"). Could this be a reason? Or was this feature kicked out of the software during a update?

[edit]Ok, found out, that "offline mode" is on during cue-list is open. But still got no table [/edit]

Thank you for helping me.

Hi Mavi,

If you have some knowledges and no fat fingers, you can try to edit the chb files with an hexadecimal editor.
See the wiki page here : http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/s ... erstanding
This should help you to do the trick very fast.

Well, this seams to be a trick wich could solve my problem. But in fact it is pretty counfusing since there are so many 0000 words for unused channels. I realy miss the table I mentioned in my first post :D

I think it would be realy helpfull to see directly wich channel is set to wich value in a step. Perhaps this feature can be brought back to freestyler in a later version?
