Hi, everyone,

Unfortunately my English isn't very good, but I hope someone can help me. I'm looking for a way to control more than 8 fixtures with the DMX400. Does anyone have a clue how to do that?

Greetings from Fetenjung.

What I do now is having more dimmerpacks set to the same DMX-channel. You can shift them some channels so that that fourbar isn't doing the same thing as one other. Expanding the number of channels isn't possible as far as I know.

Is there no way to add more channels??? Maybe in a new software version?

Theres no current way for users to add channels,
You may request for more channels to be added in the appropriate thread.
But the way the sequences are made are not dynamic and would require all to be redone for the new channels.

A request could be for dynamic sequences that users can make and would auto scale for 512 channels.

I've explained this before: You can always set more dimmerpacks to the same channels. If you use (for example) 4 four-channel dimmerpacks and the first one starts at DMX-channel 10, then the second one starts probably at 13. If you set the other 2 packs also on startchannel 10 and 13, these packs will do exactly the same as the others. You'll have 16 lights controlles by 8 DMX400-channels.

Alternatively, soft patch them to the same channel, then if you do want to control them individually you can remove a channel from the patch, without having to go into the rig and readdress your lighting.
You then also don't have to have all your channels of your dimmer shadowing another just the channels you need.
