installed freestyler 3.4.6 as given by the distributor, tried to install the udmx drivers however a black box appears and cancels the installation, copied the dll file over to windows folder and shows in the device manager however its got a exclamation mark next to it. Any ideas to fix it?

Also, you say you got a copy of freestyler from distributor, I would suggest getting the latest version from these forums, think it's currently 3.5.7. So you know for your own peace of mind it's the full clean proper version.

Ok, I get the impression that message is normal as its unsigned, since it is mentioned in the instructions for udmx installation.

My immediate reaction would be to download a fresh copy of the install / drivers, and work through the instructions here http://www.illutzmination.de/udmxdriver.html?&L=1 slowly and carefully - one line at a time - taking care not to accidentally skip over forget anything.

If that fails there are links on the page to where people have made it work and how, but firstly just working through step by step would be your best starting point.

I recommend below ArtNet to DMX interface and give up all the USB to DMX dongles.
