Hi every one,
I am running a theater with freestyler and I am trying to send MIDI command from another software to Freestyler. I installed an internal MIDI Loop application to enable me to send MIDI to Freestyler. But it does not work. I also attached the interface for the cue playback software ( Multiplay).

Would you please help me, how to add the note into the midi interface of Multiplay and FS.

hi first off all for freestyler you have the add-on GOmonkey and its a Theater cuestack..

but back to your quastion i assume you know how Midi works..

But you use a NOTE OFF command i would use a CC# or Controlchange.

Data1 is the NOTE (or identical button/slider) from 0 to 127

Data2 is the Velocity (or Value that the Note can have) if you use a Slider this can be incromental from 0 to 127 and if you use a Button OFF=0 and ON= 127..

Thanks,
It's my second time using MIDI to trigger the lighting and I donet have lots of experience in that. However, actually I used many type of MIDI commands but none works. The issue I have is that the MIDI is mapped in FS setup but it does not run the sequence when I trigger it.
I wondered is there any specific setting that I need to change to get the MIDI reaction to MIDI commands.
For example I changed the the "react to sound" option to on and off but there was no changes.
I know the FS is working I have used mobile remote and Keyboard shortcuts and they work.
Thanks again for your help.

Hello,

Have you found a solution for your problem yet. I was trying to do the same : controlling FS from Multiplay sending midi-commands trough loopbe1 (midi loopback software). I found out that you have to send ControlChange commands at a velocity of 127 in order to get FS to react. When I do this I can see the midi commands coming through in the FS midi setup window but apart from that there's not anything hapening. I'm using FS 3.5.5. Any suggestions.

I used multiplay at xmas for a small amature theater production and it worked great, using loopbe as the midi loop back.
reason i used multiplay over go monkey? i was mainly doing sound and sound effects with the odd lighting effect. The majority of lighting was still on analogue dimmers.
Will be adding audio capabilities to goMonkey for this years panto.

Thanks for the info.

I had just found out how to do it before I read your reply and your image confirms how I did it. I added the control change with velocity 0 to every midi cue in multiplay because if I didn't FS would react only once to the midi sent from Mutiplay. A second start of the same cue triggered from multiplay didn't do anything.

I had to get back to version 3.5.2 of FS though
to make it work. When I try the same in FS 3.5.5 (latest version), I don't get any reaction at all. Is there something extra to do in FS 3.5.5 to make it work ?

Hello,

I tried the latest version 3.5.9, but I still can't get it to work with multiplay. I have to keep with version 3.5.2 to make it work.
When I go to the midi setup in FS and send the midi from multiplay the usual way, I see it arriving in FS. It is marked for example (cc176)24,0,1 (24 for toggle blackout), but for the rest nothing happens in FS.
Am i doing something wrong or are the bugs still not resolved.
I also tried to export the midi setup settings from FS 3.5.2 and import them in FS 3.5.9, but I got a message that the settings were incompatible.
Can anyone help me with this ?

Hello again,

Problem is solved. It was due to the fact that I typed in the values in the midi control setup of FS (after having pushed the button EDIT). It seems now that when your editing the midi setup, you have to send them by playing the midi cue in multiplay instead of just typing them in.
