Is the DMX400 module something that just controls par can chases? Can it run at the same time as a cue?

I don't really understand what it's for and how to program it?

Can anyone let me know?

Really? Because I'd love to run my colorsplash wash lights on a slow chase all evening (Facing the back wall of my DJ setup), and be able to run cue's at the same time, and not have it interfere with the chase.

I'm thinking that is what dmx400 is for. But have no clue.

It is simple! Right click on one of the LED fixtures, you will see an option to use in the dmx 400, set different channels for however many lights you have (1,2,3,4). Fixtures must have a "intensity" channel to work in the DMX 400. Open Dmx 400, set for amount of channels (4,6,8) press the "Chaser" button and watch them go! Mouse over buttons to get info on the buttons

I just got 8 new Wedamark Par 64 led parcans. They are awesome. I was trying to program them and followed the instructions but had no luck. When you say intensity what do you mean. I do not see an intensity option when I right click them and set them up in the channel nor do I see one on my fixtures. Can you help or am I looking in the wrong place.

It's okay. I gave up. I douldn't even find the option to set the fixtures (by right-clicking) to work with DMX 400.

I also don't know if you ALSO need a dimmer pack.

OK, a few answers. No, you do not need a dimmer pack. I use the Wiedamark par cans so I know they work! You must open your fixture file in "Fixture creator". Once open you must look and make sure that there are values under the intensity channel. If you are using the Wiedamark pars you should have channel 4 under intensity with min.0 and max. 255. After you have saved your fixture file, open up freestyler, right click on a par can, select "use in DMX 400", select #1, and continue to do this for each par can, the next fixture will be #2, then #3, and so on for however many par cans you have. Then open up the DMX 400 and select the #1-8 (however many pars you have) then turn on the chaser and watch it go. If anyone needs 1 on 1 help you can call me at

I did exactly as you said in the fixture creator and saved it.

I opened Freestyler, and added the fixture. I right-clicked on it but there is NO option or any mention of DMX400.

are u clicking on the fixture on the main screen or on the add/remove fixtures window? because it has to be on the main screen.... the icons etc.....

I do not have those DMX400 options. My right-click options are less.

please go to fixture creater open the file that is the light ur trying to use then click export in file menu then send that file to my email adam@djsupportonline.com asap for a quick response!!!!!

okay ive fixed it but you may have to re-do any sequences that involves that light....

Yep. I had Freestyler closed and bouble clicked the fixture file and it installed okay in the fixture directory. But, still no option for DMX400.

As a matter of fact.....NONE of the par cans listed in the Freestyler fixture directory have the ability to be DMX400 controlled.

I have the nexest version of the software. Perhaps I have the wrong version of Freestyler??

I made sure there were no values in lamp and DMX400 still doesn't show up. As a matter of fact. NO pars on any of the fixture files in Freestyler allow DMX400.

My thought is there is not really a DMX400 module. Is there? It seems that no one has ever used it. Or, it was disabled in the version of Freestyler I have. 2.95.

Could it NOT be working because I'm NOT using a dimmer pack?

Again Harry! YOU DO NOT NEED A DIMMER PACK!!!! Are you sure that you have your fixture setup as a RGB fixture? I would do a fresh install. Go ahead and use the Beta. Make sure you backup first!
