Some Questions

Hi

I started to 'play' with FS (v 2.95f) to get the feel of it and see if it can replace my 'heavy' controller board.
I really like the concept of viewing the different parameter levels of each attribute and the group programming.

I came across some problems and I would appreciate any assistance to see if they are bugs or am I simply missing something.

1. I loaded (through the fixture creator) a fog machine that uses 2 channels. I set them to 500 and 501.
I can operate these channels 'manually' by sliding the bars when selecting the fogger but the fogger is not activated by the fogger control window.
In fact, I could not find anywhere where to update the program which dmx channels are assigned to the fogger.

2. I am trying to program simple dimmer scenes and to run them sequentially as in a 'normal' board using the GO button to progress from que to que.
Programming the scenes with fade times into ques goes ok.
However I could not find the proper routine to accomplish the playback as desired.

3. When populating the que list window, sometimes a button on the list gets stuck (stays in red) and the table is not responding.

4. Also, on the que list, only some of the populated lines (sometimes only one) show the relevant time values (in the timing columns) the rest are empty.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

N.Webber :)

When creating a fogger fixture the haze/fog fixture template must be used, freestyler will do the rest.
There is no configuring needed.

2.This is currently not possible, i have started creating an addon that will allow you to accomplish this.

3.This may be a bug, could you please fill in the form bellow with the exact steps you make to replicate the error.

4. The times are only updated when a cue begins to play, (you may also add this to the end of your bugreport as a feature request)

Kind regards Matt

Thank you for your prompt reply.

This surprises me. I would have thought it would be one of the basic features of (any?) lighting software.
It is certainly fundamental and a must in the type of (stage) shows I do: theater plays, dance shows, fashion shows etc.
Do you have estimation as to when this addon will be available?

I will check the haze/fogger template and also try to define the error(s) I have encountered and fill the report.

Thanks again,

N.Webber :)

Hi I dont think the program was originally designed for theatre therefore this was not needed,

One Person made this software, One person (a family man) spends alot of time on this software for no pay and purely on donations! its alot of work and so every persons usage and feature requests cant possibly be accounted for (at least yet anyway).
Be Grateful :fs: :P

I understand this situation completely and I am truly grateful!
I am sorry if my post sounded somewhat demanding. That was not my intention at all.
I realize this softwhere is a product of many un-paid hours and personal concessions.

I can see why FS is so popular in the DJ domain.
Its intuitive and friendly interface for programming intel's is what caught me in the first place.

My point is that if and when FS will contain this "que by GO" feature,
it will certainly find many potential users also in the theater and other stage related acts.

Matt, Take your time and keep up the excellent work.

Its not me that makes it lol.
The developer is Raphael Wellekens.

But with the introduction of send message to freestyler, users are now able to make there own 3rd party addons. Such as Plasmas telnet Interface, and his PDA remote control.

Mine should hopefully be the ABfader board, Il try and get a preview up for you asap to test out and request fixtures although it will not interact with the software all the other functions will be live.

Sorry, I wasn't familiar who is responsible for what
Of coarse Raphael gets my full appreciation but also anyone involved and contributing.

Best Regards,
