Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I would like to know if anibody has succeed in having a DMX510-USB adaptor running under winds 7 pro 64bits.
I had follow the hints to have it working under Vista, but it looks like this is not working for 7 unfortunatelly.
Can anyone help me ?
I sent a request to Monacor, but do not have any answer for now.
Thanks in advance.
Laurent

I have my Enttec Pro Device working faultlessly under Win7 32bit. Can see why it wont work. Have you tried running the driver in compatability mode or am I talking rubbish ?

Thanks for your answer. I tried to follow the VISTA tutorial, which explains things in a clear way. But they do not refer to 64 bits.
I post here the txt file that comes with the driver:

Code: Select all

Settings for DMX-510USB und Windows Vista

The programs DMX-510USB is now working properly under Microsoft Windows Vista. But some settings have been changed:

1. Before installing the DMX-510USB software the driver signature check (system integrity checks) under Windows Vista has to be deactivated:
- one click with the mouse button on the Windows symbol will open the Start Menu from Windows.
- Type 'CMD' in the search bar
- Press SHIFT + CTRL + ENTER at the same time
- Type 'Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON' in the command editor window and press ENTER.
- Close the command editor
- Install DMX-510USB software

To reactivate the integrity check type:
'Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks OFF' in the command editor

2. For the DMX-510USB software the compatibility mode for Windows XP has to be set:
- Change into the DMX510USB installation directory
- select DMX510USB.EXE with the Right mouse button
- select Properties -> compatibility
- select 'Start program in compatibility mode for : Windows XP(SP2)'
- select the option 'run program as an administrator'
- press Ok
- start the program with a double click on DMX510usb.EXE

3. To avoid very slow data transfer via USB (for DMX-510USB) it is necessary to deactivate the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

-1 Click on "Start" and then right-click on "My Computer."
-2 Click on "Properties" and then on the "Hardware" tab.
-3 Half-way down on the right, click on "Device Manager."
-4 Click the "plus" sign in front of "Other devices."
-5 Double-Click on "DMX-510USB".
-6 Click on the "Power Management" tab.
-7 Uncheck the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
-8 Click "OK"

if necessary:
-9 Click the "plus" sign in front of "Universal Serial Bus Controllers."
-10 Double-Click on the first "USB Root Hub".
-11 Click on the "Power Management" tab.
-12 Uncheck the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
-13 Click "OK"

if necessary, repeat point 9-13 with the second "USB Root Hub".
I don't know if this is the right place, as it looks more like a windows issue rather an a question for FS, but I even try, if somebody has big skills in W7

I think that I found my answer thanks to google...
If a component hasn't a 64bits driver, I won't then be able to have it working under 64bits windows.
I now have to wait for Monacor to provide me with such a driver,or I will have to move to a new hardware :-(
Anyway, thanks to you guys for your comments.
