By 'Android' I take it you are refering to the Google mobile phone platform. ?

I would say its not being developed and probably never will be. Its a possiblity that someone might make an artnet control that will work, bit like the iphone software that you can buy for about £50

Im not to up on the Android thing as I prefer Iphone (the only phone worth having!!!!!)
Am I right in saying its 'open source' ? Maybe somebody will do something one day. Maybe it will be you ?

Just a thought, would the PDA interface work with it ?

Its a good idea, as far as my knowledge goes, it does not exists. But a webserver running some custom applications is needed then. Which could be just the computer that is running FS.

I already found another solution.

Fingerplay Midi for android. It makes a connection to the "server" running freestyler.

For the android users, You know what to do with this :)

saves a lot of typing.

Its an installer code wich you can view with the camera on your phone.
It gets the latest version of the app on your phone :)

Now I'm getting interested. I have a HTC Hero so it could be a cool feature for me as well.

Can you give a description how it works, how well it works and what you can/are controlling via the android phone

Okay.. i also have an hero.

How it works simply said works:

Install and run on your android phone, fingerplay , that connects to the downloaded fingerplay server on your desktop.
On your desktop you also install a midi loopback.

And in freestyler you open your midi settings,
Press a virtual button on the phone, and its relayed to freestyler.

The connection thru your network is wireless.. The communication with the server is very good,
performance in freestyler.. Works also.. Not perfect, but i am still fine tuning it.

The interface looks like this.

and there is an button page.

I played with it yesterday and had some issues.

1) i got alot of FC's (for non-android users it means Force Close --> crash)
2) when you are using the buttons which is working like override buttons in FS, nothing happens
- this is because the midi value dont reach 127 and it is random, around 60

otherwise it works great and I think I may want to use it some day. one down side is you have to have a wireless AP with you. I tried to make a wireless ad-hoc network on my laptop but the android (or HTC ??) software cant see the network. I have the program "wifi analyzer" on the phone which could thoug.

I am also still perfecting it. But a moving head has just died, so this is secondary priority.
First i have to make the mh.
