I have the Enttec Pro and 7 colorstrips. Changing the refresh rate to 24 using the Enttec Utility software fixed ALL flickering on my colorstrips. I never tried changing the refresh rate in FS, since that came after I had the Pro and the utility software.
djharry,
Freestyler is free, so spending the extra money on the Pro is still cheaper than buying any other DMX software/dongle package. The Enttec Pro will be your best investment in your whole light rig, trust me. There are others here still fighting trying to get their cheap dongles to work. Ya'll could be programming or gigging instead of fighting with dongles. The message from this board is, "Go Pro and never look back".
Well, unless you buy cheap a$$ LEDs like Onge

Go Pro, I agree, cheap a$$, I agree because at the time I got them I did not know better. You get what you pay for

I have zero problems with the Velleman. I realize Entec is a sponsor here, but the Velleman works just fine for me.

Just for the record, I am no way affiliated with Enttec, nor do I get anything from them for posting here about the Pro. I bought mine from sirs-e on ebay. I speak from experience using mine. Enttec has more expensive dongles, but no one here talks about them.
If Enttec would give me something, I'll take a Enttec D-Split

I'm looking to add a DMX splitter to my rig. Does anyone have experience with the D-Split? For $92, that seems pretty good to go from one output to four.
Did I just Hi-jack?

Matters not that they sponser the forum. If enttec devices were rubbish we would say so! Im glad the Velleman device is working for you though!

I use splitters all the time Shannon. I think Andre does too. They are most useful if you have fixtures on a high truss and others on the floor etc. I treat them like distibution points. Loads of companys make them. If you lived in the UK Id send you one, I have 4 and only ever needed 2 on a gig.
???????????????? Nahhh

Sorry to hear that, Harry. While you have both the Velleman and Enttec Open interfaces, can you do me a favor? I'd like to know what kind of "CPU Usage" numbers you're seeing in Windows Task Manager while running each with FreeStyler, and then compare it to what kind of CPU load you get when running the Enttec Pro. I know the Enttec Pro is supposed to better, and I'd like to learn by how much. Thanks!

I'd be happy to Gary. It might be a little while if/when I get the pro. I have to admit. Th open is a nice little unit. Well-buit. I'm going to use it for a wedding tonight. The only thing missing from the open is a indicator light.
