A couple of questions: [SOLVED]

Post by baggy99 »

Hi

I have been playing around with FS foir a few days and I think I'm strting to get to grips with it. There are however a couple of things I I can't work out and I can't seem to find the answers anywhere:

1) I'm a bit confused over the override settings. If I make a new sequence then save it and tick "Add to cue" and "Add to buttons", then I go to Programmable Override Buttons, sure enough I see my chosen sequence name on the first button. However if I then click the button the command only takes me into the first step in the sequence - it won't run the sequence even once let alone loop? The sequence is pretty simple - it's onlk red, green, blue, white on a Par64 RGBW fixture. The sequence works fine on the test button, but not on the override button??

2) Following on from the above (and maybe connected?), once I've clicked the override button I see an exclamation mark against the fixture on the main screen. If I try to make any changes to the sequence I get a popup message saying "Attention - overrides/buttons are active", but they are not! I can't even get rid of this by clicking Release Override Settings. I also sometimes get the same popup but no exclamation mark and I have no idea how to get out of the override as none appears to be showing.

Thanks
Mike

Override buttons can only do the first step in a sequence and will not do movements (circles, 8s, rectangles...). If your sequence has more than 1 step you need to run it in the cue window. When an override is active it takes precedence over everything else (hence the name).
When running sequences you need to use the cue window to run them. There are also other methods to run sequences but they all work around the cue window

The blue apostrophe mark is just to let you that the fixture is currently running a sequence or override.

Trying to program scenes while scenes are running (or even if the cue window is open) will result in "Offline Mode" which allows you to make changes to your scene but not be able to see the changes taking place live until you have saved and reactivated your sequences.

I hope this helps

Rusty
