Controlling Dimmer Channels In Cue.

Post by robdquick »

Hi,

I'm having a rather weird problem. I've programmed some sequences to turn on/off some of my lights at different intervals. 3 of the sets of lights I have done this using the dimmer channel. 1 other set of lights use the shutter channel (there is no dimmer channel, just on/off/strobe). running the sequence via the cuelist or just by itself, the only channel that changes is the shutter channel on the 4th set of lights, the dimmer channels don't change at all on the first 3 sets of lights. I changed one of the sets of lights in the fixture creator to shutter instead of dimmer on the same DMX channel, and now that one works fine in the cue.

The easy option is to change all of the dimmer channels to shutter instead. But that then gives me a different problem. I use some submasters to control the dimmer channel so I have manual control over the brightness of the lights at some points. Doing this with a separate fixture created just to control the channel via the submaster as detailed here: http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/t ... _intensity

Running this submaster and using the intensity slider works fine, but now the cues don't work!!

So, is the not being able to control the dimmer channel via a cue a bug?? Or is this the intended behaviour?? And if it is, does anyone know of a workaround that I can use to get this working like I want it to??
