Hi @ all,

due to issues with the combination above (lightbeams not visible when not using strobe) I pointed this to the Sunlite forum and got the following answer:

Re: Easy View 3D and Freestyler 3.5.2

Hi Joachim

We had to update our communications protocol due to some Chinese piracy issues. Freestyler will need to update their software and use our latest library to keep compatibility with the latest version

Will there be an update in the nearer future? I would be really happy to get this working again soon ...

Best regards, Joachim

Hi,

This has been a problem for myself and many others, but if you download the latest beta version of Easy View 3D then it will sort the problem out and you will get visible beams.

Hi Nathan,

if I download the latest beta version and replace the easyview.exe, the DMX signal in Easy View 3D shows OFF and I've found no way to get it online. If replace it again with the original downloaded .exe which came with the automatic installation procedure, DMX control is online again but the beam issue is still there ...

I really need help ...

Best regards, Joachim

Hey,

That's unusual as that didn't happen to myself. I just downloaded the beta and then replaced it and it worked fine. Are you making sure it's off the website? Not off any other external site?

You could try and find a solution via Google? See if that picks anything up about 3D easy being offline?

Nathan

EDIT// Make sure you have the correct interface selected when using 3D easy view. Virtual Interface. Setup>>Freestyler Setup>>Virtual Interface(should be at the bottom) I just remember :)

Hi Nathan, I took it directly from nicolaudie.com and tried the beta and the normal version, no success.

Well, I'm stumped then :? I don't understand what's causing it. I could have a look if you wanted via remote assistance?? It's up to you though, PM me if you do.

hi drummasheen,

you also need to update MEVP.dll. in latest beta dated 1.february 2013 there
is MEVP.zip archive. Just extract new MEVP.dll (82944bytes) to your freestyler
directory and it should start to work. I'm using freestyler 3.5.0 and it works.
let me know if it worked for you.

PS: not only MEVP.dll is different from previous versions. also dasword.dll
and dlloem.dll is different in size.

best regards

This worked for me ! Good work and thanks for the fix pishtak !!!

Edit: New Issue.
Previously my stages in 3D EV had a floor, roof, back wall and 2 side walls. Now when I open a new 'stage' it appears that way until I add and object or fixture. After adding an object and putting 3DEV in User mode a 'front wall appears! Anyone have this issue?

I have done the following:

Loaded the latest FS (3.5.2)
Loaded the beta 3dEV
Copied the described files above from the 3d directory to the FS directory
When I run FS and click on the 3d icon, the screen blinks and nothing else happens. It doesn't seem to want to launch 3d.

Note: If I go to the 3dev directory and run that version of he .exe, all is fine.

Any ideas?

Hey,
I would just hang fire at the moment, gothambeat. I believe we won't be waiting long before the new FS version comes out and hopefully it will fix the bugs and problems people are having. If I were you need I would wipe it all off and start again going step by step and don't rush so you know what's happening. It's up to you though

thanks. I actually uninstalled and re-installed latest version of FS without the updated BETA EV. I can get the EV working now, but obviously still having the beam problems. I can live with that until FS catches up with the new EV code.
