good afternoon all,

I went thru the forum for many hours and I can't find the solution for driving each single lamps of my HQ Power sunstrip. indeed I 've tried to set them up as dimmer but due to the fact that the 1st chanel gives the rules of use and not driving the first lamp I'm confused ... the needs is to be able to use FX effects for my sunstrip

many thanks in advance...

the first channel says :

Channel Description
1 0 40 All lamps are off.
41 70 10-channel mode: each lamp controlled separately.
71 100 5-channel mode: 2 lamps per channel.
101 130 2-channel mode: 5 lamps per channel.
131 160 1-channel mode: 10 lamps per channel.
161 190 3-channel mode: ch1 = built-in program, ch2 = brightness, ch3 = speed.
191 220 2-channel mode: ch1 = built-in program, ch2 = brightness.
221 255 3-channel mode with sound activation: ch1 = built-in program, ch2 =
= speed.

Create a little picture describing what the function does for example I have one button that says "func off" which means it sets that channel to 0 then create buttons like "10 Ch
Mode"
Add all these on the macro window it then gives you a bank of options to choose...

You can use any paint program, open up existing ones in the gobo directory for the correct size and save as a .BMP

Save it back in the gobo directory then use them in the macros function.

many thanks for your support. not sure that I do understand correctly what you said. I will have a look at the macro decrisption in Wiki.

back to my issue, my major difference I have with these sunstrips compared to Showtec which has only 10 channels which pilots each single lamp. I have the feeling that I need to declare my fixture with 11 channels but I can understand how to do it.

my focus is still to use the FX function for making great effects.

There is no right or wrong way to make a fixture, make the fixture the way it works best for you. I'll try explain a little more when I'm home from work

A similar light to yours, notice how I've put the functions options in the macro window

Any other dimmer beyond the master dimmer is on the custom sliders menu, this gives me full control over every single light.

If your fixture has a few options for how many channels it uses make sure the 'total channels' has the maximum number the light use that way no matter what option you select with your macro buttons it will never interfer with other lights

Not sure, it's been a while since I've looked at that. I don't operate or own any lights lol but I continue to own and run the forum
