Hello people!

I have been trying the last few days to make my project working but so far no success so I am posting this one in case there is a brave soul happy to help :)

Here is my hardware configuration:
- 4 meters of a 60 LED per meter from a noname chinese brand.
- leds are RGBWW (white warm) on a SK6812 controller
You can see what they look like here: https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.h ... 2022985687
-artnet controller for 4 output universe (only 1 used so far) noname. Here it is:
https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.h ... 1315245026

I have successfully connected the computer to the controller and the ledstrip even light on.
I have used Jinx for testing purpose and now trying Freestyler.
On Jinx the effects work as expected in terms of animation but not in colour: everything is white or warm white. No colour.
On Freestryler the led follow the command sent in terms of OFF/ON and effects except for 2 things:
- only 2 pixels light , with 3 LEDS on 1 pixel and 1 LED on another pixel next to it.
- they are always white, even when I use the Red/Blue/Green widget.

Actually I wonder if the strip I have is really RGB because I can see different LED lighting on the same pixel with just white showing up, not any color except warm white eventually.
Or I am doing things completely wrong...

Anyone willing to discuss with me to find out?
Your help would be much much appreciated :)

If it's me who can't make a fixture properly, I am also happy to be redirected to a tutorial to make Freestyler fixture... or pay someone if it's a considerable amount of time and understanding (I thought a simple led strip would not be that difficult, but I might be wrong).

I have followed/adapted the tutorial on this page:
https://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/ ... l:led_bars
(for instance I had to add the Warm White channel as the 4th channel)

thanks!

Ok I think I am getting an understanding...
It looks like the led i bought has RGB (middle LED) + a Cold white led + a Warm White led.
Which is amazing but... I can't figure out how to control the RGB Led apparently.

I am attempting to help but most of your links are dead. Can you please post your fixture file?

Hello Partyman,

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated !

The links above are indeed available only to me, my apologies.
Here is the right link for the controller:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/10050013 ... 7278yIC9RQ

The good news is that I found the problem in the meantime (it took me time and quite some hair, which is a pity because I don't have much left): they didn't send me an RGBW ledstrip!!! That's why it was white all the time...

For the story, I ordered that:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/10050020 ... 51d0o1JJ3q

And got that:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32840279834.html
An Warm white / Cold White / Amber led strip...

Take away: if it is always white, it might be that you have a f***** WWA led strip instead of the expected RGBW!

Side note: the controller is not the culprit and seems to work quite ok so far.
