Hi there,

recently bought a uDMX dongle to use with my par cans at home but I’m having a very strange bug that I simply can’t understand - the lights all work fine when there is enough constant change in output (fast sequences/dmx400) but start to flicker when they’re sat idle (say, say on one colour). Just a row of 8 par56 led fixtures.

If I mess with the main master intensity and slowly move it up and down they stop flickering, but as soon as I stop changing it they start again. This only applies to 2 fixtures on the rig, the rest don’t flicker at all. Have tried multiple freestyler versions but they all seem to replicate the problem. Has anyone got any pointers? If they were all flickering I’d point my finger at the refresh rate on the settings page but I’ve tried multiple values but with no luck.

Has anyone got any ideas? Much appreciated

Do you use a DMX terminator?

most likely because it is a very cheap dongle. Get an enttec pro and you should not have the problem.
you can try going into setup and under where you select your dongle there is "refresh rate" try setting that as low as it will go and see if that helps

I have seen a similar problem with 4.1.0. The interface was an ENTTEC PRO. The computer was an i9 running Windows 10. We set the Freestyler refresh rate to the max FPS. We also used the ENTTEC PRO MANAGER to experiment with various values. Nothing worked. Uninstalled 4.1.0 and installed 3.54. The problem disappeared.

I also have problem with udmx dongles. I will try version 3.54 as Rod said
