Difficulty with fixtures after adding new fixtures.

I am new to Freestyler and computer controlled DMX operation. have some experience with using manual control units. I recently added 2 new moving head fixtures and after doing so I am experiencing issues with other fixtures. I have a ADJ Majestic running in 8 channel mode. Since I added the two additional fixtures I get no response from it. As soon as I plug i the dmx cable to my adaptor one of the 4 lights on the majestic will light and the unit will not respond to any commands including blackout. I am also experiencing intermittent loss of control of another fixture. I can hook the dmx up to a traditional controller and there is no issue. I have also tried reloading the location and fixture to no avail. Any ideas?
