What is wrong with OFFLINE mode and how do you disable it?

I figured I was running into problems with VISTA 64 bit. So I downloaded and installed the latest BETA 2.96j on XP Pro and still the same thing.
I can't get anything to work in OFFLINE MODE.
Is there a way to turn it off? When Freestyler boots up, the Create Sequence is fine. I create and control all the scenes and cue's I want. No DMX showing in RED and no OFFLINE mode. As soon as I click new in the Create Sequence box, OFFLINE mode comes on. After this, I can't get anything to work.
The OFFLINE mode would be nice for me to edit an existing scene, but nothing works after it is enabled. Can I disable it altogether? Is it a software glitch or am I doing something wrong?
When is the update coming?

offline mode only comes on where either a sequence is playing or the cue window is open.

So once ON, you can't turn it OFF without restarting Freestyler?
Why doesn't OFFLINE work? Precise DMX controll is what I need. Insert Seq works and plays (Test sequence button) perfect, except when OFFLINE mode is ON.
When the sequence does work in OFFLINE mode, it never plays it correctly. Will there be an update?

the offline mode should turn off after closing and reopening the window after you have stopped running all cues etc,
the reasom its an offline mode is because if you strated programing during the night then all your lights would have to start in the off postion so you can go round individually programming things...

Offline mode is incredibly annoying. I am able to create a single scene. I can check it out in the Cue after that I cannot do any more scenes. The previous one continues to run until I shut down freestyler and start it up again.
People are saying you cannot exit offline mode if a program is running however it remains in OFFLINE mode even after I shutdown the program and start it up again about half the time. There is nothing running, no programs, no scenes, no cues, nothing in Freestyler.
Yet my lights are having a wonderful time executing the last instruction I gave them.
What am I missing?

Alright....
I think I have figured out what has frustrated so many. The directions ARE correct, but they leave out an important item.
When you program in a dmx action and it is being executed, it will continue to be executed until you tell it to stop.
The problem I had was I would program in a pattern and the pattern would repeat... forever. Make sure you create BLACKOUT sequence that kills all of your fixtures and put it into your cue. That way if one gets stuck on you can turn it off again and regain control.

On the cue list click the settings cog and choose 'always start from 1st scene', and then click the green cycle arrows to the right of the scenes name and they turn into a straight arrow. This will now just play the scene through once from start to finish.

Well...
It's doing it again today.
When I launch freestyler its stuck in offline mode. And my lights are all off.
When I try to manually change any of the sliders for the lights themselves the lights come on and respond, but the exclamation mark pops up next to the channel on the right.
I've created a new location in freestyler now as I've changed some of the addresses on my fixtures.
Any idea what's happening here?

Are you automatically opening the cue window on start up?
FSDMX_Options_sm.jpg
Also when you open a new sequence, go to options and 'clear channel values when new is clicked.' If you select that it will clear what ever sequence you have created previously. It's kinda like a 'Clear' or 'Clear All' option.
I think the other reason the offline mode is enabled when cues are open is it is like 'Blind' programming mode. This way you can set the parameters required before executing with out disturbing your current cue.
